A hiking shoe or boot should fit comfortably on your foot.

It doesn't matter if it feels airy at the front, but it should fit well in the heel and shouldn't be loose when you walk. This is a bit different for our shell boots.
Ideally, you should have about 15 mm between your toes and the edge of the shoe at the front.
They should feel comfortable from the start, but they will only get better the more you walk with them.

Size of Bjerg, Stuore and Kilen: Measure your feet, add 15 mm and choose the right size from our size chart. Sometimes you can go up or down a size from what the table says without it being too short or too long – the most important thing is that the shoe fits comfortably and that the heel does not slip!

E.g.: a foot that is 251 mm: 251 + 15 = 266, which is size 40.

This will depend entirely on personal preferences and your intended area of use. All our shell boots have the same function: they are good on technical terrain, have good durability, keep wetness out, are easy to repair, quick-drying, can be used for many different things, etc.

We also have boots with lining on the inside, which can be used for easier hikes if you want a little more comfort in the boot, without having to create it yourself with thick socks.

A shell boot has no lining inside. An ordinary boot with a membrane or leather lining can keep water out for a while, but once it gets wet, it takes a long time to dry it. A shell boot has a cellular rubber bottom, which makes them completely waterproof at the bottom. As long as you take care of the leather, it will remain waterproof for many, many years. As there is no lining or other material that absorbs water, shell boots are extremely quick-drying, allowing you to wade with them.

No. Most people who talk about Lundhag boots talk about our shell boots.

Bjerg, Stuore and Kilen are hiking shoes/hiking boots that are constructed in a different way than the boots, without a cellular rubber bottom and with a lining on the inside.

This means that they are not boots and do not become as waterproof as a shell boot (e.g. Jaure II Ms Lt High and Mira II Ws High), but they have other advantages and disadvantages.

For example, the lining makes them comfortable to walk in from the start, but they take longer to dry once they get wet.

Most of our hiking boots are made for use in spring, summer and autumn. We also have winter boots, such as Skare mid and Stuore Insulated (add link).

Of course, you can wear a summer boot in the winter, but here are some differences between summer and winter boots:

* Winter boots generally have a softer rubber compound in the sole, which gives a better grip on cold and icy road conditions (but wears faster in summer)

* Winter boots often have a wool lining or other insulating lining to retain the heat from the foot

* Winter boots often have an insulating midsole, so that ground cold does not penetrate into the shoe

Wax the leather regularly. If you have single-layer boots, you can use Leather Grease instead of (or as a complement to) the wax. Is the leather Nubuck? You can spray them if you want to keep the surface as it is, but you have to spray often. Wax is better in the long run, but the surface will be shinier and darker. The cellular rubber part can be washed with water and mild soap but no other products should be used. Wear the boots frequently and store them in a cool place if you are not going to use them for a while.
